Boys Are Back In Town

Tuesday Night Dinner Club is finally whole again. Camp ended this past week so Port and Baron are no longer entertaining the countries youth. Tonight we have our biggest Dinner Club to date with over a dozen guests in attendance. Zorgap (go Negev) is attending all the way from Los Angeles. He may be used to the boujee Cali food, but tonight he is going to get a real taste of homemade cooking. Bogrot was also at dinner tonight to get a taste of what TNDC could dish out. Bogrot showed up to dinner wearing Yeezys so who knows if our cooking will be up to her standard. Unfortunately, summer is coming to an end so we are squeezing in our last few barbecues. On the grill tonight we have grilled chicken, grilled eggplant, corn, mini potatoes and an assortment of vegetables.

The market today was an absolute adventure. I have never cooked for this many people and you never want to run out of food. I picked up 3 packages of chicken breasts, 2 dozen corn, 2 bushels of asparagus, 3 bags of mini potatoes and 2 cans of bone suckin’ bbq sauce. The veggies were freshly picked from the TNDC garden. From the garden we harvested a couple eggplants, peppers and squash. To prepare the potatoes we bathed them in salt, pepper and olive oil. The potatoes were then thrown in a grill tray and left on the grill for about 40 minutes. The corn we husked and placed on the grill, rotating often for about 25 minutes.

The peppers and squash we cut up, then drizzled with olive oil. We tossed the veggies on the grill until they began to brown. For the grilled chicken and eggplant we drenched them in the bbq sauce and then cooked on the grill. Eggplant cooks pretty quickly in about 10 minutes, while the chicken was 7 minutes on each side. Asparagus needs some olive oil and salt for seasoning, then toss on the grill for 12 minutes. In those simple steps you can create a meal to feed an army.

Enjoying a meal with your closest friends never gets old. Everyone enjoyed the food and luckily there was enough for everyone and then some. We may have missed blogging the last couple weeks, but don’t you worry we are back. TNDC thrives when the gang is all together. Now that summer is coming to an end we will have to get a little more creative with our meals. One of these nights, on a sleepwalking adventure, I will come up with the greatest meal of all time.
