Tuesday Night Dinner Club is back in the kitchen to bring you the perfect pre-snowstorm comfort food. Massachusetts is gearing up for a big storm tomorrow, so we decided to carbo load tonight. Homemade spaghetti and meatballs is the perfect meal to eat before a snowstorm because it will give you the energy to shovel out. It feels good to be back in the kitchen following the night out last Tuesday because that food did not live up to our expectations. Becoming self-made chefs has made us food snobs and we expect the best out of the food we are putting into our bodies. Our homemade spaghetti and meatballs is a dish that will make just about anyones mouth water.

The market was a bit of a zoo tonight because people hear snow and run out to get the staples. At the market tonight I picked up a package of spaghetti, bread crumbs, garlic, 3 pounds of ground beef,  2 cans of tomato sauce, eggs and milk. The first thing we made for the dish was the meatballs. For the meatballs you will want to heat the oven to 400 degrees and spay a cookie sheet with non-stick spray. In a large bowl you will want to mix the 3 pounds of ground beef, 3 eggs, cup of milk, teaspoon of salt, teaspoon of pepper, teaspoon of onion powder and 1.5 cups of bread crumbs. Using your hands mix together all contents in the bowl. Once mixed roll into golf sized balls and place on the cookie sheet.

Bake uncovered in the oven for 20 minutes. Now it is time to make the homemade sauce. Pour the 2 cans of tomato sauce into a pan. Add a clove of garlic, tablespoon of onion powder, teaspoon of salt, tablespoon of crushed pepper, teaspoon of pepper and tablespoon of olive oil. When your meatballs are done cooking add them to the sauce and bring it to a simmer. Once the sauce and meatballs are simmering it is time to cook your pasta. Boil your pasta for about 8 minutes and then drain. Pour your meatballs and sauce over your pasta, then dig in!

Our homemade meatballs were out of this world. We absolutely nailed tonights dish and would put our homemade meatballs against any Michelin rated chef. Donut was not at TNDC tonight which gave us the ability to cook a non-vegetarian masterpiece. Not really sure what his excuse was this week, but we didn’t ask too many questions because it is nice to not worry about a vegetarian option every once in a while. Dinner club was the place to be tonight and gave everyone an opportunity to destress from life. This time of year I feel like everyone is in a mood and I think that is just the nature of March. We are nearing the end of winter, but still far away from summer. If you end up being snowed in tomorrow, this is the perfect dish to cook. Until next week…
